How early should we reserve the date?
Let us know your preferred date as soon as possible. Alternatively, we can make a provisional reservation and get back to you in good time if needed.
What does a birthday celebration at the Löwen cost?
Expect CHF 65.– to CHF 250.– per person including drinks — depending on menu, aperitif and duration. The all-in packages start at CHF 100.– per person including drinks and table decoration. Discuss your budget with us and we'll put together a suitable offer.
Is there a room hire charge?
With a lunch or dinner in the Löwen hall, the room hire is waived; a minimum of 40 guests applies. The wine cellar hosts 20 to 40 guests; the minimum spend is CHF 65.– per person, drinks excluded.
Can we view the rooms beforehand?
With pleasure. So that we can take enough time for you, please arrange an appointment in advance.
How are the tables set?
Throughout the house we set the tables with white tablecloths or runners, matching cloth napkins and high-quality cutlery. Places are laid with water, white wine and red wine glasses. On request we design individual menu cards for your celebration.
What does the seating plan in the hall look like?
The Löwen hall has five round tables seating 6 each, plus several long tables for 4 to 10 guests. We draw up the seating plan to your wishes and show you an overview of the possible arrangement in advance.
May we bring our own cake or wine?
Yes. For cakes you bring or have delivered, we charge CHF 4.– per person — including cutting, service, cutlery and cleaning. For wine you bring, corkage is CHF 30.– per bottle including service.
What about children, allergies and special requests?
For children aged 1 to around 10 we serve carrot sticks with dip, a main course of their choice and a children's dessert for CHF 20.–. For allergies or intolerances we're happy to advise you personally — please let us know when ordering. Menu changes during the event itself are charged at a flat CHF 45.– per person.
Are the rooms accessible?
Unfortunately there is no lift to the Löwen hall on the upper floor. The rooms on the restaurant level are easy to reach via the kitchen entrance — please let us know in advance so we can organise access. The wine cellar is accessible and has an accessible WC.
Can we celebrate on a closing day?
On request we open on Mondays and Tuesdays exclusively for private parties. A minimum spend of CHF 2000.– applies, or a surcharge of CHF 250.– per hour for the additional staffing.
How do reservation and cancellation work?
Reservations are binding and confirmed in writing. If you cancel, we charge 50 % of the provisional order value up to 10 working days before the event, 70 % up to 5 working days before, and 100 % thereafter. If fewer guests attend than registered, the agreed services are charged for all registered guests.
